From the Director’s Desk………
COVID times have brought many changes in a disruptive world which was already trying to cope up with a fast changing technological scenario. Never in the past century has the rate of change been as high as it has been during the past 5-6 years.
A whole new era of digital education has begun….
The onus of learning, now more than ever, is on the learner in this student centric teaching-learning environment which permits “Anytime, Anywhere” learning. The students can learn ‘at their own time, in their own place, at their own pace’. Never before were the students as empowered as they are today, in this digital age. They can fast forward the teacher, they can stop the session, they can watch again and again, the control is totally with the students. But my dear students, are you really utilizing the full potential of ‘digital learning’? Are you aware that all content on the net is not dependable or standard? Do you know that copying content verbatim from the internet is unethical and unacceptable?
Every technology can be a boon or a bane depending on the user, so be aware of the flip side of the internet based digital learning while enjoying the myriad advantages that it offers. Beware of copying from the internet while submitting your projects and assignments. In the end, only your skills will make you a ‘job ready professional. So you must focus on developing all kinds of skills; professional, technical, managerial, communication, leadership, problem-solving and life-skills.
The institutehas put in great efforts for developing and implementing the ‘Flexible Curriculum’ which has provisions for gaining the much needed ‘multidisciplinary knowledge & skills’, (through open category courses), ‘option for taking final semester internship’ (gives you a lead in the job market as compared to your competitors), ‘chance to shape your overall personality’ (through credits for professional development), holistic development (through Novel Engaging Courses), ‘self-learning abilities’ (though compulsory credit transfer from MOOCs) and above all, ‘the provision to get minor specialization degree in allied field’. I am sure you all will take full advantage of the opportunities available to you and shine like stars in your chosen careers.
The stage is now set for you all to take off!! All that is needed is to have a clear focus and a set of specific goals in your life. The institute has your back, always. Remember, it is never too late. The time is right for you to start drawing the roadmap of your life and career.
“You can’t go back and change the beginning but you can start where you are and change the ending”.
My dear students, no matter what you do, where you go from here, you will always represent this great old Institution and you must do all in your power to earn goodwill and good name for your alma mater and must always try to live up to its 64-year-old grand legacy.
On behalf of the management, faculty, alumni and staff, I wish all my students all the best for all their present and future endeavours.
