- About Faculty:
Dr. Barkha Tiwari has joined the faculty at Madhav Institute of Technology & Science (MITS-DU) as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering Mathematics and Computing. Previously, she held a postdoctoral research position at the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA Norway), where she worked on two prominent projects:
1. EXPECT: A research platform for characterizing environmental impact of industry development in the Arctic, funded by the Research Council of Norway. This collaborative project involves NIVA, Akvaplan-niva, SINTEF, Clemson University, and the University of Newcastle.
2. PARC: A European Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals, selected for funding by the European Union's Horizon Europe framework programme (2021-2027). This major project, coordinated by ANSES, aims to develop next-generation chemical risk assessment to protect health and the environment. It involves 200 partners across 28 countries, including national agencies, research organizations, the European Chemical Agency (ECHA), the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), and the European Environment Agency (EEA).
Dr. Tiwari earned her Ph.D. in Mathematical Ecology from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur in 2020. Her research expertise includes applied mathematics, mathematical ecology, nonlinear dynamics, and mathematical ecotoxicology. She has published numerous papers in reputed international journals and received the Young Scientist Award from the Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology in 2019.
